Commercial Litigation

Kaplan Landau has experience litigating a wide variety of business disputes, including accounting fraud, securities litigation, employment litigation, disputes between and among business partners, and white collar crime. Our practice encompasses a broad spectrum of industries, such as banking, real estate, construction, securities, and insurance. We have litigated against — and beaten — some of the most prominent law firms in the country, in arbitration or at trial. Representative matters include representation of a group of investment funds alleging a multi-million dollar fraud against an international investment bank and its affiliated entities, representation of a bank asserting a multi-million dollar claim for accounting fraud against an international accounting firm, and defense of hedge funds accused of improper short sales and disparagement of an insurance company issuer.
